Custom design-build for Central Oregon's climate — xeriscape, firewise, paver patios, outdoor living, and full yard transformations. Free consultations.
Our design-build process puts forethought into your landscaping. A quality design yields fewer problems, saves time and money over the lifetime of your landscape, and produces an overall higher quality product. Without a plan, most landscaping projects end up with mismatched materials, poor drainage, and plants that don't survive Central Oregon's climate.
Newport Avenue Landscaping has been designing and building landscapes in Bend, Oregon for over 21 years. Our designers understand Bend's high-desert climate, water restrictions, Deschutes County's R327 defensible space requirements, and the specific challenges of designing for neighborhoods like Awbrey Butte, Tetherow, Petrosa, and Caldera Springs.

We create a to-scale CAD base map of your property and existing structures. We develop preliminary layout options, plant selections, and material concepts — then review them together to hone in on your vision.

You review and approve the final plan. Depending on scope, your package may include an illustrative plan, layout drawings, construction details, 3D renderings, and plant schedules. You receive both digital and hard-copy versions.

With a final design in hand, we provide an accurate itemized estimate and construction timeline. Once you sign and deposit, your project is scheduled. We back all hardscape with a 1-year workmanship warranty and plantings with a 90-day plant warranty.
Every landscape we design is built for Bend's high-desert climate — 11 inches of annual rainfall, 300+ days of sunshine, and dramatic temperature swings. Here's what we specialize in.
Central Oregon receives only 11 inches of rain annually. We design drought-tolerant landscapes using Oregon native plants, ornamental grasses, and decorative rock that reduce outdoor water use by 50–75%.
Deschutes County's R327 Defensible Space ordinance requires fire-resistant landscaping within 100 feet of structures. We design and install Firewise landscapes that meet R327 requirements and look beautiful.
Paver patios, natural stone pathways, boulder retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens — all designed as part of a cohesive plan, not afterthoughts. Every hardscape element is engineered for Bend's freeze-thaw climate.
All our designs account for Bend's water restrictions and tiered rate structure. We specify drip irrigation for planting beds and design plant palettes that qualify for Bend's water-wise rebate programs.
Many Bend properties have Cascade mountain views worth preserving and framing. We design plant placements and structure heights to enhance — never block — your mountain and high-desert vistas.
Landscape lighting extends the usability of your outdoor spaces and dramatically improves curb appeal. We integrate low-voltage LED lighting into every design for safety, ambiance, and security.
Every project is designed and built by our in-house crew — no subcontractors.
Our designers and construction crews work together under one roof. No handoffs to subcontractors — the designer who creates your plan oversees its execution.
We've been designing for Bend's high-desert climate for 21+ years. We know which plants survive, which materials hold up to freeze-thaw cycles, and how to design for Bend's water restrictions.
